The Window Coverings Association of America (WCAA) is pleased to announce that Lucinda (Cindy) Black, owner of Lucinda’s Interiors, Inc. is the 2020 recipient of the Jill Robson Memorial Member Scholarship.

The Jill Robson Memorial Scholarship was founded to honor the memory of Jill Robson and to promote education in the window coverings industry for those already in the industry as well as those new to window coverings. The scholarship fund encourages and equips WCAA business owners by supporting their education and providing foundational learning opportunities to promote professionalism in the industry.

In her time with WCAA, Cindy has held numerous leadership positions within her local Indiana Chapter, including having been the Treasurer, Vice President, and a two-time Chapter President since 2003! Cindy’s professional experience is extensive – holding certifications such as Window Fashions Certified Professional, Certified Color Professional, Hunter Douglas Certified Professional Installer, and a degree from the Sheffield School of Interior Design.

But window coverings aren’t the only important things in Cindy’s life. She is a member of Spartanburg Christian Church, where she is the Choir Director and a member of the Sunday Morning Praise Team. Cindy loves antiques and art, which show themselves in a lot of her work.

Though Cindy had applied for the scholarship before, she didn’t let this stop her from reaching towards this goal again. Upon learning that she had been chosen as one of this year’s winners, Cindy says she felt honored and blessed. Even after a few difficult years, Cindy kept her faith in God, who she says has continued to bless herself and her business.

As the 2020 scholarship recipient, she plans on funding a trip to Charlotte, NC for this year’s International Window Coverings Expo, which she’s always wanted to do. We are so thrilled for you, Cindy, and we can’t congratulate you enough.

We’re proud to have someone like you in the WCAA tribe, and we can’t wait to see you next month in Charlotte!
