From her early days sewing Barbie doll clothes, to becoming an award-winning business owner, Ronica has made significant contributions to the window coverings industry. As the recipient of the 2024 Jill Robson Memorial Scholarship for Workrooms, she continues to inspire and innovate.
Ronica’s journey into the window coverings industry started with a passion for sewing that was nurtured from a young age. She began her professional journey in the cut and sew manufacturing industry and later transitioned to window coverings, where she found her true calling. Her dedication and expertise have earned her a well-respected reputation in the industry.

Can you tell us a little about your background and how you got started in the window coverings industry?
"After many years in the cut and sew manufacturing industry, I found myself looking for a new opportunity. I was introduced to the window coverings world and decided to give it a try. Of course, I fell in love with it! I am thrilled to share my passion and expertise with my many clients."
What inspired you to pursue a career in this field?
"I enjoyed working in the cut and sew manufacturing industry and wanted to continue with a career in a similar field. My cousin told me about a friend of hers that made window treatments from her home and she thought I should consider that option. After much consideration and a little research, I dove in!"
What are some of your proudest accomplishments in your career so far?
"I have had the honor of serving as a local chapter officer many times. On top of that, I have also served at the National level. The WCAA has been an integral part of my success and I want to give back to the window treatment community. I am also proud of the fact that I am an award-winning business through Vision."

"I was lucky enough to know Jill and call her a friend. So, receiving the WCAA Jill Robson Memorial Scholarship has very special meaning to me. Jill was an incredible person and her spirit and zest for knowledge was unparalleled. I strive to live my life and run my business as she did."
How do you plan to use the scholarship funds for your professional development?
"I plan to use the scholarship to attend conferences and classes that I have not yet had the opportunity to attend. These educational opportunities will allow me to grow my business while staying on top of the latest trends and techniques in the window treatment world."
What advice would you give to others in the industry who are considering applying for this scholarship?
"My advice to others in the industry is to apply for this scholarship. The industry has so much to offer and there are so many learning opportunities available. Never stop learning and take advantage of every opportunity you have to gain knowledge."

How do you stay motivated and continue to grow in your profession?
"I stay motivated by constantly seeking out new challenges and opportunities for growth. I am always looking for ways to improve my skills and expand my knowledge. Being involved in the WCAA and attending conferences and classes helps me stay current with industry trends and techniques."
Can you share a memorable moment or experience from your career that has had a significant impact on you?
"One of the most memorable moments of my career was when I won an award through Vision. It was such an honor to be recognized for my hard work and dedication to the industry. It was a moment that validated all the effort and passion I put into my work."
How has being part of the WCAA community influenced your professional journey?
"The WCAA community has been an incredible source of support and inspiration for me. The connections I have made and the knowledge I have gained through my involvement with the WCAA have been invaluable. Being part of this community has helped me grow both personally and professionally."
